ABSTRACT Objective:To analyze the curative effect and safety of octreotide and its influence on the plasma levels of cytokines of acute pancreatitis patients.Methods:62 acute pancreatitis patients were randomly divided into octreotide group and controlled group. All the patients got such treatments as fasting, fluid infusion, dilatation, spasmolysis, analgesia, infection prevention, nutrition support and homeostasis maintaining. The patients of the octreotide group got extra treatment as subcutaneous injection with octreotide 100 μg, q8h, for 1 week. The changes of levels of IL-6, IL-8 and TNF-α pre and posttreatment were compared, and the curative effect and side effect were analyzed. Results:One week after the treatment, the plasma levels of IL-6, IL 8 and TNF-α of all the patients reduced more significantly than those before treatment (P<0.05 and P<0.01), and the range of the change of octreotide groups was more obvious than that of the controlled group(P<0.05). The total clinical effective rate of the octreotide group was significantly higher than that of the controlled group (P<0.05).The number of adverse reactions was 5 in the octreotide group and 3 in the controlled group. And the symptom was slight. There was no significant difference in the occurrence rate of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05). Conclusion:The treatment of the acute pancreatitis patients with octreotide showed definite curative effect and high safety and its mechanism was related with lowering the plasma levels of cytokines. |
