ABSTRACT Objective: To understand community residents’ current knowledge levels and demands on rational administration since the implementation of new medical reform policy. Methods:We have made prevalent one to one questionnaire survey on the residents in a community in Jianghan District, Wuhan City in March, 2011. Results:Most residents’ medical care modes, conceptions and behaviors of medication were basically reasonable. For example,47.49% residents saw a doctor when having some mild discomforts in their bodies,57.99% residents got drugs relying on doctors’ prescriptions,57.08% people took the safety of drugs into first consideration. Among those residents,98.17%took the initiative to know the knowledge and more than 50% need it eagerly. However, there were still a considerable part of residents having problems in drug purchasing ways, antimicrobial drug perception (the rate of antimicrobial drug prescription is only 58.90%), expired drugs’ disposition, drug usage and so on.Conclusion:The current condition of community residents’ rational administration and medication safety is satisfied, but still exist some problems. Management department should take these issues into great importance and meanwhile take effective measures to improve this situation. Drug advisory service center or similar service platform should be considered to establish to provide community residents with sustained drug advisory service as well as to meet their medical knowledge demands. |
