ABSTRACTThis article aims to investigate the situation and characteristics of drug induced deaths by cephalosporins to provide a scientific basis and ensure drug safety. Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, Chinese HowNet, WANFANG DATA and VIP network related cephalosporins were screened out to find literatures about the fatal cases of drug induced death in respect of sex, age, clinical manifestations of adverse drug reactions, causes of death and other information, which were retrospectively analyzed. The results showed that : 52 effective references were selected from 2000-2012, and 73 cases, reported. The mean death age was 47.12±13.05 years old, and male to female ratio was 1.43∶1. The respiratory infections were the main causes of the primary disease dominating 71.24%(52 cases), and the route of the drug administration was mainly the intravenous injection, accounting for 86.30%(63 cases). ADR occurrence mainly occurred within 10min or less (47 cases, 64.38%). Most patients used the third generation cephalosporins (48 cases, 65.75%), the front three drugs most frequently used were ceftriaxone (24 cases, 32.88%), cefazolin (11 cases, 15.07%) and cefoperazone (10 cases, 13.70%). Anaphylactic shock was the main cause of death (56 cases, 76.71%). So more attention should be paid to adverse cephalosporin reactions to promote cephalosporin skin test work, ensure drug safety and prevent deaths occur. |
