ABSTRACT Objective::To investigate the clinical efficacy of conventional treatment combined with montelukast in the treatment of bronchial asthma in children. Methods:76 cases of bronchial asthma children collected from January to December, 2012 in our hospital were randomly divided into two groups with 38 cases each. The controlled group were given oxygen inhalation, phlegm, relieving asthma, antispasmodic and other conventional symptomatic treatment, and the treatment group were given oral montelukast tablets in the treatment. The clinical curative effect, clinical symptoms disappearance time, hospitalization time and comparison of the improvement of their pulmonary function before and after the treatment amd their adverse drug reactions during the treatment were observed. Methods:After the treatment, the total effective rate of the controlled group was 76.31%, and that of the treatment group was 94.74%. There was statistically significant difference(P<0.05). The clinical symptoms and signs disappearance time and hospitalization time of the treatment group were significantly shorter than those in the controlled group. There was statistically significant difference(P<0.05). The pulmonary function test of the two groups showed no statistical significance (P<0.05) before the treatment, but their pulmonary function was improved after it. The improvement of the treatment group was significantly better than that of the controlled group. There was significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05). The two group had no significant adverse reactions in the process of treatment. Conclusion:The conventional treatment combined with montelukast had a significant effect on the treatment of children bronchial asthma, which could effectively improve the clinical symptoms and pulmonary function, shorten the time of hospitalization, and had no obvious adverse reactions; therefore, it is worthy of wide clinical application. |
