ABSTRACT Objective:To understand the situation of methamphetamine abuse in Shandong province, and provide evidence for drug abuse prevention and treatment. Methods:An investigation and analysis were conducted among 4858 methamphetamine abusers who were under treatment in Shandong detoxification settings or captured by drug control units in 2014 and the Drug Abuse Monitor Survey Questionnaire was designed by The National Center for Drug Abuse Monitoring. Results:Among the 4 858 methamphetamine abusers, male accounted for 86.97%, while female 13.03%. The average age was (29.35±7.12). For the education levels, 62.45% of the abusers under were middle school education and below,52.59% was unmarried, and 66.84% had no job. The main reason for abusing methamphetamine was pursuiting of euphoria and stimulation. Peers (77.40%) and creation sites (35.69%) were the main source for them to get methamphetamine. hotels, friend’s house, nightclub/KTV karaoke bars, home, temporary living places/rented houses were the main place methamphetamine abuse took place,1.52% were abused methamphetamine in the car. Multiple drug abuse were existed in methamphetamine abusers. The AIDS virus (HIV) positive detection rate was 0.49%. Conclusion:According to methamphetamine abusing situation of Shandong province, it was suggested that need to multi level and extensive prevention education, increase the treatment accessibility of methamphetamine abusers, and take measures to prevent poisonous driving, improve the ability of found the people HIV infected in methamphetamine abusers. |
