ABSTRACT Objective: To learn about the use of proton pump inhibitors(PPI) in surgical ward and evaluate its rationality. Methods:Collect statistical data for PPI used by inpatients in surgical department of our hospital during July and December, 2014 through HIS system, including use variety, quantity and amount, calculate and analyze DDDs and DDC, rationally comment medical records for hospital discharging in surgical department indicating the use of PPI which are randomly drawn based on 10% and analyze the correlation of trend of drug use. Results: Lansoprazole for injection ranked the first in DDDs and amount within 6 months. Among 467 medical records for hospital discharging in surgical department using PPI, 80.9% was for preventing ulceration, including 61.7% for medication without indication. The irrational proportions for administration route, usage and dosage and medication treatment were 60.9%, 20.1% and 18.4% respectively. The proportions for irrational drug use for the varieties whose DDDs and money amount rank in the front position was increasing. Conclusion:The randomness for using PPI by surgical department was great, and irrational usage exists. It was necessary to formulate usage specification, strengthen supervision and management and promote rational medication. |
