ABSTRACT Objective:To summarize experiences of drug counseling for lactating mothers, and to provide references to promote safe and reasonable drug use during lactation. Methods:We analyzed the cases of lactating mastitis in avoiding the risks of G6PD deficiency in infants, the choices of postpartum depression medication during lactation, the replacement of Helicobacter pylori triple therapy in lactation, and disscussed what clinical pharmacists should focus on, and strategies and techniques for lactation medication consultation. Results: There were urgent needs for pharmaceutical care in drug selection of common diseases in lactation, the risks assessment of lactation for special infants, and the choice of alternative options during lactation. Clinical pharmacists should take into account of clinical and pharmacokinetic knowledge, evidence based evidence, pay attention to communication skills with patients, and patient values to promote the efficacy of treatment and medication safety during lactation. Conclusion:The drug use in special populations is one of the clinical emphasis for clinical pharmacists. Lactation medication consultation can ensure the safety of infants, and strengthen the communication between doctors and patients. It is worth promoting. |
